Our Pastor

Pastor Benjamin Laird
Bro. Benjamin Laird has been pastor at Goodwater since January 2020. He is actually a 4th generation Baptist minister. His parents were missionaries in the country of Chile for almost twenty years, so Bro. Ben grew up there and speaks Spanish fluently. He surrendered to preach in 1993 and has been in the ministry for 30 years, serving as a pastor, pianist, and state missionary. In addition to his work at the church, Bro. Ben also regularly ministers at multiple nursing homes in the area and teaches Bible and fatherhood classes at the local prison.

Bro. Ben has been married to his wife ReDana for almost 30 years. They met at Mississippi College (Ben ‘93 and ReDana ‘94), and she has been by his side, homeschooling their children as he’s pastored four churches and served as a state missionary. They have four children, Rachel, Sarah, Abigail, and BJ. Sarah is married to Caleb, and they have one son, Dallas.

Bro. Ben has several areas that he is passionate about in his ministry. Two of his top priorities for his church family are Biblical literacy and practical application of Biblical principles. He loves to study and teach on marriage and family, and, especially because of his background, he also places a lot of emphasis on mission work, both locally and around the world.

Song Leader

Brother Tony Malone
November 16, 2020, is the day I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. I am committed to following him as my Lord and Savior. Thereafter, I was asked to lead the music at Goodwater Baptist Church and was delighted to accept the offer.

Having a distinctive and powerful voice gives me a platform to sing and lead worship music during our services. Having Jesus Christ in my heart gives me the incentive to lead and sing with a joyful soul. Come join us at Goodwater Baptist Church as we lift our voices in praise and worship.
