Missions We Support

Goodwater Baptist Church is deeply committed to the Great Commission, and part of that commitment is reflected in our support of missionaries around the world. Each month, we faithfully support four dedicated missionaries who are spreading the Gospel and serving communities in need. They are:

Bro. Joel Madlang-awa Sr.– Cambodia
How it all started…
In 2001, Pastor Joel Madlang-awa and his family embarked on a mission to Cambodia. Accompanied by his wife, Maribel, and their children, Joel II, Mili, and Milcah, they were guided by the Lord to the city of Siem Reap. The ministry began by connecting with locals and some Filipinos in Siem Reap. At that time, there were only two Baptist churches in the area. They reached out to the community by offering free English classes and sharing the gospel.

Today, my son continues this missionary work in the beloved country of Cambodia. Praise the Lord for calling Brother Joel Madlang-awa and his family to serve in Cambodia!

Mission & Vision: Go ye therefore and teach all nations…
The Mission
The mission of Independent Baptist Church of Siem Reap is to go and reach the world with the Gospel. To baptize saved believers and help them to be obedient disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Vision
The vision of Independent Baptist Church of Siem Reap is to be a center of discipleship and training for both locals and foreigners as the Lord calls them to reach lost souls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Bro. Joel Madlang-awa Jr. – Cambodia
Brother Joel II has called Cambodia home since he was ten years old, having moved here with his family. Immersed in the local culture, language, and community from a young age, he felt a divine calling to dedicate his life to full-time ministry. For the past six years, Joel II, along with his wife, Jahlil, and their daughter, Jael, has been faithfully serving the community in Chansor Village, just outside Siem Reap town proper.

Through their ministry, many young people have come to know and serve the Lord. Remarkably, one of these young individuals has even become a preacher. We pray that this church continues to be a beacon of hope, leading more locals to salvation and a life surrendered to the Lord.
